Some of you may have heard that there will be a new way to access your prescriptions which should make ordering your next prescription easier.  Labont Ltd will have the ability to receive electronic prescriptions from January 2012.

You will simply need to nominate us as your preferred stoma care product provider; the nomination process can be handled at your surgery or we can set it for you with your approval.  If at any time you would like to change to a different provider then you can at any time although we recommend that you give yourself plenty of time so that you don't run out of goods.

When we are six weeks from going live we will forward to all our current customers a leaflet detailing how EPS works and giving advice about what to do next.  If you wish to ask for a leaflet to be posted then please just call us on the freephone number 0800 146992.  There is also a wealth of information on the NHS Choices website where you will be able to see a map of EPS enabled contractors.

The principle of the EPS is to make life easier for patients to organise their prescriptions and to enable greater use of the repeat dispensing service.

Over Christmas we don't encourage customers to take extra orders unnecessarily as they get overloaded with stock and we feel it is bad practice.

If you wouldn't normally need to order before Christmas please don't alter your ordering pattern.  During the period that we are closed we will be checking the answerphone, emails and fax machine for emergencies only.  Should you experience problems with your stoma and can't get in touch with us please contact your GP or your District Nurse.  Most A & E departments will be able to direct you to a surgical ward who should have a small number of pouches for you to access.

We wish you a Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year and look forward to continuing to provide you with good service once again.

Sometimes we find that people accumulate too much stock maybe of old products or samples that you are never going to use.  If this is the case then we can take them from you and forward them to a charity called International Aid who distribute unwanted medical supplies to countries that need them.  

The next time you see our driver be it Dean or Glenn please ask them if you can make some returns.

We would encourage you to only order exactly what you will need for perhaps a months supply as we have heard of people taking in too much stock in one go.  It is unnecessary to order lots of stock unless you are off on a long holiday and it takes up a lot of room too!
